Professional Background

I’m grateful for my career in education, which spans almost 25 years. I started in the classroom, facilitating everything from developmental preschool to K-6th grades, Title 1 Reading Specialist, and a co-founder of the Experiential Learning Program. I’ve also had the pleasure of facilitating parenting classes and some college-ed classes. I’m very grateful to be a Maker at the Maker Learning Network and support our professional learning for our schools.

What do you consider to be your greatest professional achievement so far?

My greatest professional achievement is learning and growing professionally and personally. I believe this love of life-long learning helps me to support the amazing people we work with.

On Sunday mornings, you can usually find me…

curled up with a good book in my hammock swing, sipping a cup of green tea.

What was your favorite subject in school?

My favorite subject was my friends, lol! I also loved reading, art, science, history, and PE.

Flashback to when you were 10 years old. What do you want to be when you grow up?

I wanted to be a marine biologist. I loved watching documentaries by Jacque Cousteau.

What inspired you to pursue a career in this field, and how does it align with your passions and interests?

When I was 5, I taught my best friend to ride her bike without training wheels. I’ve loved teaching and facilitating ever since! I’m passionate about creativity and connections and love that my career provides many opportunities to pursue these.
