Professional Background

I have worked in education for the past ten years. I began my teaching career as a facilitator at iLEAD Lancaster. I taught 4th and 5th grade for eight years. I loved seeing learners discover, explore, and create, and I fell in love with Project Based Learning. I love helping other educators discover the magic of Project Based Learning.

What do you consider to be your greatest professional achievement so far?

My greatest professional achievement was learning to facilitate young learners virtually during the pandemic. We still developed a strong classroom community, even through Zoom.

On Sunday mornings, you can usually find me…

Drinking my coffee while playing with my daughter.

What was your favorite subject in school?

My favorite subject was Language Arts. I have always loved reading and writing; it came naturally to me in school.

Flashback to when you were 10 years old. What do you want to be when you grow up?

When I was ten, I wanted to be a physical therapist. I love learning about exercise and how specific exercises impact our bodies.

What inspired you to pursue a career in this field, and how does it align with your passions and interests?

I had many teachers who inspired me to go into the field of education. I remember my 5th-grade teacher was an incredible storyteller. My middle school Language Arts and Social Studies teacher made learning engaging and interesting.
