What do you consider to be your greatest professional achievement so far?
I spent 2 years living and working in rural Thailand as a Peace Corps Volunteer between 2012-2014. I worked with Thai English teachers in classrooms and rice farmers in the fields. That professional experience was fundamental in shaping my world-view and approach to work and community. I am very proud of my time there!
On Sunday mornings, you can usually find me…
Wrapped in a blanket and listening to music while completing a word search puzzle.
What was your favorite subject in school?
Art! I love the process of creating something lovely from a blank slate.
Flashback to when you were 10 years old. What do you want to be when you grow up?
I was an only child and when I wasn’t playing with my friends, I was often pretending to “teach” my stuffed animals an elaborate school lesson. I always knew I wanted to work with young people in some way!
What inspired you to pursue a career in this field, and how does it align with your passions and interests?
Community, education, and well-being are the 3 things that mean the most to me. I always want to find a way to support thriving, connected, and healthy young people and learning communities. My work as the Creative Content Coordinator allows me to be connected to school communities through writing. It’s a joy!
