Professional Background
I have been an educator for the past 8 years. I have taught almost all the levels of middle school and high school science. From 6th Grade to High School IB Physics.
What do you consider to be your greatest professional achievement so far?
Helping students truly become lifelong learners is one achievement that stands out to me as it is my passion as an educator. I don’t only want to teach students science facts, but I want to inspire them with a fire to pursue their own learning and also give them the tools to be able to accomplish that.
On Sunday mornings, you can usually find me…
Catching up on lost sleep from the week before I put on some music and dive into my weekend cleaning routine.
What was your favorite subject in school?
Science! Shocker!
Flashback to when you were 10 years old. What do you want to be when you grow up?
I wanted to be an astronaut for as long as I can remember. So much so, that I originally went to university for mechanical engineering to help launch me along that path.
What inspired you to pursue a career in this field, and how does it align with your passions and interests?
My passion for teaching came from my experience in coaching. I have been a sports coach at some level since 8th grade. My passion for seeing my players grow during the season and witnessing what they were able to accomplish aligns perfectly in the classroom. Coaching a sport and teaching a subject have a lot more in common than people may first realize.
